This is a pre-release return card for Legends & Lore card set from Sadlittles.com, which I was supposed to complete earlier and put up on eBay but didn't because EBAY FREAKS ME OUT THAT MUCH. I haven't been posting here for quite a while and the first thing I'm posting now is 100 year old me

I came across this LJ and found the contest (draw yourself as a 100 year old!) and thought it would be fun to join! Looking back at the drawing I wish I made it more extreme, like hanging jowls, liver spots, seriously saggy boobs but I don't have the heart to draw me in saggy boobs T__T.

Anyway there's dentures all over the ground because each time I yell, one'll pop out of my mouth, and because I have less than stellar eyessight but too proud to admit it, I can't find the dentures on the ground and will then go off to make a new one.

Wow.. I haven't updated here for a month. No, I didn't leave LJ. But I am too lazy to type XD It's been quite a hectic past month, and lots of things happened, some for the better, some for worst. At any rate, I find myself putting lots of sketches and new art in my art blog HERE. So feel free to browse through!

Also, I've started up a series of comic strips called Adventures of Mr Oniyon. In case you don't know, Mr Oniyon is that yellow dude dancing with the panda on my user pic. He is quite cute. And the strips are quite funny :) Do take a look! Thanks muchly :D

Now I have to go and clean my home. My cat is neglected and my place is dirty and I have to fix that >.

Went to watch Watchmen with a bunch of friends, caught the Star Trek trailer before the screening and it looks great. Spine-tingling, hair-raising, I-gotta-watch-this-movie good.
GAH. SPOCK AND KIRK LOOK HOT. And I can't help but see Sulu as Harold from Harold & Kumar movies.

As for Watchmen- I think it's a commendable effort despite having to put up with such studio shennanigans and ... and.. well... watch it for yourself? XD

Anyone here stoked after seeing Terminator: Salvation trailer? Never before had so much hunks of metal and mud-streaked men from the future send shivers of anticipation down my spine. Yes, I am aware trailers lie all the time and McG had Charlie's Angels to his directing credit, but it is such a sweet sweet lie and I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt. Anything would be better than seeing Optimus Prime face-raped by Michael Bay. Sob.

Wee art blog updated, hopefully regularly because I'm making a target of at least 20 drawings per month starting this month, and that means about a drawing a day. Also trying to make sense of the purpose of having this LJ aside from keeping in touch with LJ friends. I hate writing, so I don't really write lengthy prose so nope, it's not really for journal keeping. Should I keep drawing a daily comics of sort, about my day and other silly stuff and keep it here (like the cat episode)? It will at least a good way to keep drawing and keep me from lazing away art-wise.

Aside from that my office is a freezer lately

Ok first post for 2009. I am late by 21 days. So I'm fashionably tardy.

Remember the kitten in the last post? I'm afraid she didn't make it. The day after I flew back to KL, she died. It was kinda sad (my mom cried, and this was kinda surprising because I didn't expect her to get attached to the kitten after only 7 days, but apparently it was enough time) but we tried our best, and at least it didn't die out there in the garden eaten by ants (those terrible big red ants! How I hate them!)

It might seem morbid, putting up pics of kitty that's now dead, but for the short time it was with us it brought us joy, and I would like to remember :)
Plus these pics were taken while it was still very much feistily alive!

In other unrelated news - I am married! XD XD XDDDD

Went back to Kuching a week ago for a much needed time off. I had intended it to be a restful holiday, fattened up with much laksa Sarawak and mihun belacan and loads of other Sarawak delicacies. How wrong I was. Not that I didn't get my food fix (I did, and so much more) but the restful part gets a bit iffy.

On Saturday, I found abandoned kittens in the garden, covered with ants. Not just any type of ants, those awful big red ants. The kittens were yowling (from hunger or pain or both?), wet from the rain the night before, and no mom cat in sight. What to do what to do? My family and I heard them Friday evening, but thought that by morning the mom cat'll come and take them away. Instead, there they were, on the ground, and obviously so awfully young (eyes not open, can't walk properly, ears still not yet unfolded) I thought they won't survive even if I took them in. Can't leave them there covered with ants, can't really be sure if I should take them in in case their mom comes back. In the end, pity took over, and I took them, pulled the ants off them, carted them off to the vet (not before making a panicky call to a friend to verify if the kittens are really abandoned under such conditions). Hee hee sorry Mel. I think I might be yelling into the phone but only because the reception was cranky. Tee hee.

The first vet I took them to tsked when he saw them - he said they were much too young (4 days old, he said) and probability of surviving is very low. Gave them deworming meds, fed them a bit and made some hot water bags to keep them warm. Carted them off to a second vet because first vet said to feed them fresh cow milk but I thought kittens can't digest cow milk?? So got some kitty formula at the 2nd vet, and again, the vet tsk-tsked at the sight of the small kitties and said that chances of these kittens surviving are very small. I had asked both vets if they have a some sort of kitty incubator for such occasions, but they say no. Basically it's up to the effort of the foundee and how much time to one want to commit to taking care of the kittens. So I get it. Kittens might die. But no harm in just trying your best eh? Brought them back home, fed them about every 1-2 hours, changed hot water bags, pat their bladder and butt to induce pee and poo. By nighttime I smell of kitty milk and poo >.<

2 kittens died the day after, the two smallest and weakest one (and unfortunately the ones most covered with ants). 2 more left, but one died on Monday night. By this time I had gotten the sneezies because I am allergic to kitty fur (I guess even underaged ones!) but can't stand the thought of kitty starving so had to do it. But good thing is that I can't smell anymore poo or milk because my nose is stuffed up. And I am sooo sleepy oh my god. Because I had to wake up around 1, 3 and 5 am to feed kitty. Now there is only one kitty left. She has an weird ugly face but cute big ears (which had unfolded yesterday, when she twitches her ears it's so damn cute). I think she survives the rest because she so crazy feisty. What underage kitty do you know that'll push the nursing bottle away and climb out of the box every few minutes? Not sure how long she'll keep up - but I'm worried who'll take care of her when I leave which is after tomorrow? (if she survives till then. I hope she does) My parents can't keep up with the constant nursing, and one of my bro's friend said he'll take it in once the eyes open. Please let the eyes open by tomorrow.

I think I'm pretty much rambling now. Sorry if I don't take calls or anything atm - my head is so scrambled from lack of sleep, and I can't talk properly under such condition. Really! It takes much effort just to get the spellings in this entry right. It's only been 5 days, but it feels like forever.

I'm just hoping this last kitty'll survive till new year at least. Well, it kinda already did - by the Islamic calendar haha. Let's just hope it lives till tomorrow to climb out of the box yet another day.

Much had happened in the past week. I got sick, and got a year older, and then got sick again, and then Comic Fiesta happened. A lot of people got sick recently. I've heard of friends' family getting sick simultaneously, and a whole town outbreak of general sickness. It's like the sick quotas are all being used up before the year ends.

This image, used as rant page for my group's book for Comic Fiesta is literally the truth. Don't you just hate it when your body goes wrong and everything feels like crap? I had to cancel a dinner and meet-up with old high school mates the day before my birthday because I was bedridden, miserably contemplating spending birthday being sick in bed. My nose was so clogged up I was given a nasal spray =__=
The doctor had a cute anecdote on that, but I'll leave it for another day.

Got the keys to my new pad sometime ago, and here's how it looks like when it's bare and naked, all unfurnished. And check out those two monkeys walking around in their dirty-soled shoes! On my new floor!
(which they helped me clean later, so it's all good :D)

Dragged myself to work last Monday after a miserable, sickly weekend.

But my spirits lifted when I was presented with this by the amazingly talented and all round super nice person Sandra who wrestled the icing tube away from the cake decorator and drew Mr Onion on the cake.

That night we went to Yuen with a whole bunch of friends to celebrate in a proper manner - which also meant to pig out royally

And after that pig-out session, I got sick again. I brought onto myself T____T Didn't get enough rest to recuperate from the previous illness!

Babysat this furball for a week. He's adorable. And fat. And lazy. And had the funniest sleeping position.

Then Comic Fiesta happened. There was a mad dash to finish up the YGX#4 on time, and we made it. The event itself was great - I love the new venue, the hall is spacious, lots of walking/ breathing space, good AC, comfy seats, and plenty of interesting cosplayers. While I find that I obviously have not been keeping up with the latest anime/ manga trend (because I can't identify most of the characters walking around), there were still those who cosplay from series/ games that I am familiar with, and these are a joy to spot and identify.

The RE hunks XD My mates and I spotted Carlos going by first, and we yelled "Carlos!!" and I was wondering "Where's Leon?" and as Carlos turned and walked closer to pose for our cameras, Leon walked past! And naturally we all went "LEONNN!!" Silly but cool. I like that Carlos cosplayer. He is quite yummy.

There was also a Jill Valentine walking around, and she is hot.

They're both hot.

Still keeping up with the RE theme, Nemesis (where is that tentacley thing coming out from???)

Siegfried from Soul Calibur and someone from RG Veda. The former's outfit is craaazy awesome - all cut out from perspex? maybe? but it was really elaborate, obviously a labour of love.

Super pretty Sakuragi and Rukawa. I wish there's a Sendoh around XD

Fire Nation outfit Katara. There's an Avatar gang running around but I didn't manage to catch them all together.

One of Katamari's Prince's cousin. I LOVE this. It's so awesome. Makes me wanna play Katamari all over again!

Dark Knight Joker, who was very nice and giggly and not scary at all.

OH. Cobra Commander is so cool. He ended up chatting with us at our table for quite a while. I wanted to hang out with him a bit more but Gundam Girl wanted to go to the pharmacy instead. Phooey XD

AND THIS. Cloud as a Lady from FFVII. Remember that bit in the game? You have to get him a blonde wig, bikini briefs, satin dress and a tiara to get him chosen by Don Corneo? The cosplayer was a girl so it's actually a girl playing a guy who dresses up as a girl. And she was in character the whole time - it was really fun to watch! She was also very obliging - I asked her if I can pose in a particular way with her, and she went along with it!

This is the pose I had in mind, and what I had initially posed as. I wanted to be particularly flamboyantly theaterically sukebe. It would've been epic. But the photographer of this particular shot sucks so this is the picture I get instead XD

See? Not as epic. Garr.

and last but not least

'Friend' from 20th Century Boy. Very cool to actually have one walking around, and frankly, quite creepy too. But not as creepy as Gundam Head Girl, I think XD

All in all, a great event and I hope we have the same venue for next year. And much thanks to those who came by and bought YGX#4. It's so great to see familiar faces coming back to our table. And it's also great fun to have friends hanging around at the booth to share those fangirly and wtf moments :D Hope to see you guys there again next year!

Went to Labbit and Elephant's house today to salvage some stuff (they're moving out to a new house, and are giving away stuffs and I am moving into a new condo and NEED these stuffs) and went out to dinner with a bunch of other friends. We ate at a vegetarian restaurant (which serves a mean mock crispy 'goose' - it's actually deep fried tofu skin, and totally delicious dipped with vinegary chili sauce). It was all around pretty good food and company and interesting conversations, one of which revolved around ...hmmm, pardon my french -pantat kucing.

If you know Malay language, it is a crude, rude but somehow very very funny word. Especially when attached to cats. Especially when it's a literal translation of the word 'pussycat'.

Anyway, some quick sketches. It's Sunday already! I am sleepy and I totally do not want to go to work tomorrow.

Is it an homage or a travesty? It's Joey freaking Fatone we're talking about here. He was in N'freakingSync. The bane of my high school years (at least for the last two years of it I think). I can't decide at first, but the more I watch it the more it grew on me XD XD (I do wish though that Kym would braid her hair like Princess Leia in the movie, and that Joey would put on the outfit Luke had in Ep 6 but maybe that would impede the dancing? Who knows.)
